We're pretty excited about a new product that we have just launched on the Australian market, it's a SOFT Rescue Board. Yeah SOFT, just like a learn to surf surfboard but built to SLSA surf rescue board specifications.

Don't be fooled to think they're a toy. They perform very similar to conventional rescue boards and are more than capable of being used on beach patrol for real rescues. Being a completely SOFT board they are perfect for getting in amongst swimmers.

The boards can have either SLSA Surf Rescue signage or Lifeguard signage depending on your intended use of the board.

So far the response has been amazing. Most of the clubs that have bought them to try have come straight back for more. Clubs aren't just buying one, they are buying them two, three, even five and six at a time.

The feedback we have had so far is that clubs like the SOFT Rescue Board because they reduce the number and severity of injuries to paddlers and they don't ding as easy as fibreglass rescues boards and most importantly you don't have to sacrifice performance for added safety. The kids and the girls love them because they are more managable in the surf.

The video below shows two ladies in a recent bronze squad using the Dolphin SOFT Rescue Board. This is training session three for them in the water. The conditions are pretty challenging. These members are new to Surf Life Saving with no previous board paddling experience. The SOFT Rescue Board has enabled them to stay in the water longer and become more confident board paddlers.

5 Reasons why your club should be investing in Dolphin SOFT Rescue Boards.

• Less injuries to members. New Bronze Medallion and Surf Rescue Certificate candidates are notorious for hurting themselves and each other as they struggle to control full size fibreglass rescues. Girls and younger members especially, are often sent home from Bronze training bruised and battered from the boards.  Don't be fooled into thinking that these boards are only for training kids. Dolphin Soft Rescue Boards are fully certified by SLSA and are just as capable as conventional boards at completing a rescue.
